🌕 Nidrā_Your inner throne
A delicious 25 min. lie-down to nourish yourself, with the intention to invite inner alignment and to relate to your inner power. Grab your cushions and blankets and let's rest!
Hello, Frequency Friend!
This nidrā was created on the lands of Villa la Angostura, at the shores of Nahuel Huapi Lake in Patagonia, Argentina. A place that speaks to me of a promising tomorrow, of hope and patience. It is ancestral land of the Mapuche people.
Happy resting!
Vanessa
In the practice of yoga nidrā (yoga of sleep), you lie down and listen. That’s it. My voice and instruments invite your awareness on a journey through your body and mind to rest deeply within your being. Or maybe you just have a good, nourishing nap. This practice is an adaptogenic; it meets you where you are at.
Yoga nidrā is a practice that explores the yogic concept of santośa (contentment) as “the happy acceptance of all that arises, with no effort or judgment or intention other than acceptance itself.” (Dinsmore-Tuli, 2011, p.55) and the idea of having multiple bodies of this human existence.
The practice can guide you into liminal dream spaces, which you might know from when you are about to fall asleep or wake up (also called hypnagogia and hypnopompia). It is a soft space to be, and while your mind may be trailing off, you remain in charge of what happens and which of my suggestions you want to try out and which not. Having trained and deepened my nidrā facilitation skills since 2021, I am sensitive about choosing my words intentionally when offering a nidrā. It emerges and is never scripted, so I can be fully present in the moment and ‘with you’ even though you are not in the same phase-space with me. I also test-run each nidrā on myself, so I feel comfortable sharing it. That said, we are all unique individuals with our own past experiences. Within my care and provisions, you create your safe space in each nidrā. Highlighting this agency might seem redundant, and sometimes it is a welcomed reminder.
Nidrā is best enjoyed comfy. So, choose a place where you can rest comfortably and without disturbance. Gather anything you need to be very at ease, e.g., cushions for bolstering the knees, the head; one or more blankets to keep you warm as the body temperature might drop, and to just feel hugged; an eye pillow.
