3. What data is processed?

When you subscribe to my newsletter, Substack processes the following data:

Your email address (required for sending)

Optionally, your name (if provided)

IP address and usage data (collected by Substack, e.g., reading behavior)

4. Purpose of data processing

Your data is used to provide the newsletter. As the operator and content creator, I can view your email address and (if provided) your name. I guarantee that the stored data I can view will be used exclusively for the provision of the subscription and will remain exclusively in the Substack system. The data will not be passed on to third parties.

Substack also collects usage data to compile statistics (e.g., opened newsletters). I have no direct influence on this. Please refer to Substack's privacy policy for more information.

5. Deletion and unsubscribing

You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time. Your data will then be removed from my Substack. However, your Substack profile will remain intact if you have created one. You must delete your profile directly via Substack. Please note that deleting your profile may also prevent you from receiving other Substack newsletters and may disable the comment function on other Substacks.

6. Legal basis for processing

Your email address is processed on the basis of your consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR) via a double opt-in procedure, in which you must confirm your email address. You can revoke your consent to processing at any time by unsubscribing from the newsletter.

7. Storage of data

Your data will be stored for as long as you are subscribed to the newsletter. Substack may store data for longer if you have an active profile there. This applies in particular to your subscription to other Substacks and, if applicable, your use of the comment function.

8. Tracking and external services

Substack uses tracking technologies to compile statistics on the use of my Substack offering. This data is used to optimize the service and improve the user experience. This is done on the basis of legitimate interest pursuant to Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR in order to ensure the functionality of the platform and to continuously improve its offerings. 9. Your rights

You have the right to access, rectify, erase, and restrict the processing of your data. You can also object to the processing and withdraw your consent at any time.
