Welcome!

Hello, Frequency Friend,

Thank you for having me! You have probably landed here because something I have said, shown, or written resonates with you ~ it is of the same frequency that you hold.

The ‘What & Why’ of this substack

‘Here’ is a multi-media platform on which I share (the journey of) paintings, sounding and harp play, reflections and research. All exploring what it means to be and to be human (together). I love being a multi-dimensional human, and I care to share! Throughout, I intend to express authentically from my heart-center and to extend my way of viewing the world. Since you & I are of the same kind ~ a human kind ~ what moves (through) me might mean something to you, too. Seeing through my lens might be inspiring or insightful. Additionally, this publication may be an invitation for you to (re)connect to your unique way of seeing, from your center. In its basic form, I hope to spread the joy I feel lies within most human experiences, also in times when life is less than fabulous.

How this publication works

I’ve chosen the human experience as a golden thread through this publication as I find it the best mirror for an exploration of who we humans are, of who I am.

In this inquiry, painting-sounding-thinking are different ways of knowing the same insight. They are different angles from which to investigate the human experience.

The article on epistemic change expands on my understanding and use of different ways of knowing. Sometimes my posts give access in these three ways to the same message, such as in this reflection-sounding-painting. You can spot those by their shared title. Engage in all three to access the full meaning. Other times, the posts stand for themselves in one mode of knowing without a mirror in the other two. Each yoga nidrā (yoga of sleep, restful yoga practice) is always current in time, picking up the vibe of the day, so to speak. Often, my posts or notes are current as well, done in the same phase-space as the here and now. Sometimes I’ll add an adventure from the past.

My approach is to invite you to have an experience via this publication. How does the piece you are seeing, hearing or reading engage you? What comes up for you? This substack is about the experience (yours, mine) and not strictly about the output, the polished result. I haven’t studied as a classical harpist but I do share my joy with the harp. I’m not a trained singer, but I do share what wants to come through and out of me.

It’s about how I relate to the harp that I offer. It is the frequency of my voice, the quality of existence that I hold, which I share.

My offerings are unplugged and improvised, not a trained performance, minimally post-edited, and never AI-generated. I want to keep the originality of the moment as much as possible while making the experience pleasant for the musical ear. I co-create the pieces with the frequencies that are present in that moment, such as the minerals I paint with, the salt of Saltspring Island when recording a yoga nidrā by the ocean, the lands I find myself on when improvising a sounding. For me, this honors all that I am connected to and gives beauty and depth to the offerings. It’s a feeling more than anything. The article on understanding in frequencies expands on that.

I see my sharings as an invitation for you to sound, scribble, ponder, hum, drum, express along with me. How do they move you?

The content I share may be best engaged with curiosity and having taken a breath ~ a social media post that intends to invite you to come back to your own center, not to captivate your attention in the first three seconds before you scroll on.
I hope to hear your reflections in the comments or the chat so we can create a space where dialogue on what it means to be human emerges over time.

About me

Also me, besides painting, I have navigated corporate and higher education systems for more than a decade. These demanding and valuable learning journeys enabled me to contribute to doing things differently, where welcome, as an organization consultant and researcher. My continuous and dedicated practice of Indian (bharatiya) philosophies and traditions has shaped how I show up as an instrument and my way of seeing the world. Sometimes you’ll find me as a yoga and meditation teacher at festivals or retreats. Besides painting, sounding and thinking, I love to dance and to swim in open waters 🐬.

Name-your-pricing

Have you heard the saying, “vote with your wallet”? In my world, when buying something, you receive the frequency of the product or service and the frequency of the offering party. At the same time, you give your energy (money, monetizable data) to the other to continue to do what they are doing.

Gift yourself a weekly dose of the frequency of these creations and the growing community. And support me with your energy, for example …

5/month Maintain ~ for the energy to keep going.

8/month Grow ~ for the energy to, e.g., conduct scholarly research projects of which you are the first to know the insights; design and run art exhibitions with harp play streamed live here.

If none of these amounts are for you, any 1-♾️/ month as your support-intention is welcome and precious. Also consider to gift another with the gift certificate option.
